Best shipping software for Etsy sellers (2026)
Simplify handmade and small-batch fulfillment with better rates and batching.
Why Etsy Sellers Need Shipping Software
Etsy's marketplace rewards fast shipping and positive reviews. Manual label creation through carrier websites wastes time you could spend crafting products or marketing your shop. Shipping software streamlines the entire process: import orders automatically, compare rates across carriers, print labels in batches, and sync tracking back to Etsy. For sellers doing more than a few orders per week, the time savings alone justify dedicated software.
Etsy's Star Seller Requirements
To earn and maintain Etsy Star Seller status, you need: 95%+ orders shipped on time with tracking, 95%+ 5-star reviews, and reply to messages within 24 hours. Shipping software directly impacts the first requirement. Automated tracking sync ensures every order shows as shipped on time. Batch processing helps you fulfill orders quickly, even during busy periods. Don't lose Star Seller status because of shipping logistics.
Saving Money on Etsy Shipping
Etsy offers discounted shipping labels through their platform, but these rates aren't always the best. Third-party shipping software like ShipWave compares rates across USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL to find the actual cheapest option for each package. This matters because: Etsy's rates vary by package profile, different carriers win at different weights and zones, and savings of $1-3 per package add up quickly. For a shop shipping 100 orders monthly, that's $100-300 in potential savings.
Handling Handmade and Variable Products
Unlike drop shippers with standardized products, Etsy sellers often ship one-of-a-kind or variable-size items. Good shipping software should: Allow custom package dimensions per order, save frequently-used box sizes as presets, calculate rates based on actual dimensions (not averages), and handle fragile items with appropriate service selection. ShipWave lets you set product defaults while easily adjusting for variations.
Batch Processing for Craft Fairs and Launches
Etsy sales often spike after craft fairs, holiday launches, or when items get featured. Batch processing lets you print 50+ labels in minutes rather than hours. Select orders, verify addresses, compare rates in bulk, and print all labels at once. This is essential for: Post-craft-fair order rushes, Black Friday/Cyber Monday volume, new product launch spikes, and maintaining Star Seller during busy periods.
Returns and Exchanges
Etsy's community expects seller-friendly return policies. Shipping software should make returns easy: generate return labels customers can print, track return shipments, and manage refunds efficiently. ShipWave provides return label generation at discounted rates, so you can offer hassle-free returns without eating into margins.
Integration with Etsy
Seamless Etsy integration means: Orders import automatically (no manual copy/paste), tracking syncs back to Etsy immediately, shipping status updates in your shop dashboard, and buyer notifications go out on time. ShipWave connects directly to Etsy—orders appear as soon as they're placed, and tracking uploads the moment you print labels.

FAQs
Is ShipWave cheaper than Etsy shipping labels?
Often yes. ShipWave compares rates across all carriers and finds the cheapest option for each package. Etsy's built-in labels are competitive but don't always win, especially for heavier packages or longer zones.
How does Etsy tracking sync work?
When you print a label through ShipWave, the tracking number automatically syncs to your Etsy order. Buyers receive notification, and the order shows as shipped in your dashboard—no manual entry required.
Can I use ShipWave for Etsy Star Seller requirements?
Absolutely. ShipWave helps you ship on time with valid tracking, which is critical for maintaining Star Seller status. Automated tracking sync ensures every order counts toward your on-time shipping rate.
Does ShipWave support international Etsy orders?
Yes. ShipWave offers discounted rates for international shipping through USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Customs forms are generated automatically when you print international labels.
What if I sell at craft fairs and online?
ShipWave handles both. Use it for your Etsy orders with automatic import, and manually create labels for in-person sales or other channels. All shipments are tracked in one dashboard.
