ShipWave Channels

Getting started with ShipWave Channels

A quick-start guide to connecting your first marketplace and pushing your first listing.

Prerequisites

Before you can use ShipWave Channels, you need:
  • A ShipWave account – Sign up at shipwave.app if you haven't already
  • A connected Shopify store – Go to Admin → Stores and connect your Shopify store. This imports your products and inventory.
  • An active seller account on at least one marketplace (Amazon Seller Central, eBay, Walmart Seller Center, Etsy, or TikTok Shop)
Make sure your marketplace seller account is in good standing—suspended or restricted accounts cannot connect.

Step 1: Create a channel

Go to Admin → Marketplace → Channels and click New Channel.
  1. Select your marketplace platform (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, or TikTok Shop)
  2. Choose which Shopify store to use as the product source
  3. Give the channel a descriptive name (e.g., "Amazon US" or "eBay Main Store")
  4. Click Create Channel

Step 2: Authorize your seller account

After creating the channel, click Connect to authorize ShipWave to access your seller account.
  • Amazon, eBay, Etsy, TikTok: You'll be redirected to the marketplace's login page. Sign in and grant ShipWave the requested permissions.
  • Walmart: Enter your API Client ID and Client Secret from your Walmart Seller Center developer portal.
Once authorized, the channel status changes to "Connected" and you're ready to configure settings.

Step 3: Configure basic settings

Click on your channel to open the settings page. Start with these essential settings:
  • Auto-sync inventory: Toggle ON to automatically push inventory changes to this marketplace
  • Auto-import orders: Toggle ON to automatically pull orders from this marketplace
  • Inventory buffer: Set a buffer of 2-5 units to prevent overselling during high-velocity sales
You can fine-tune pricing rules, templates, and category mappings later.

Step 4: Create your first listing

Go to Admin → Marketplace → Listings and click New Listing.
  1. Select the channel you just created
  2. Choose a product from your Shopify catalog
  3. Select the variant (or all variants)
  4. Review the listing preview—title, description, price, and images will be pulled from Shopify
  5. Optionally customize any fields (title, description, price)
  6. Click Create Listing
The listing is created in "draft" status, ready to push.

Step 5: Push to marketplace

From the listing detail page, click Push to Marketplace. ShipWave will:
  1. Validate the listing against marketplace requirements
  2. Resolve the category (if not set manually)
  3. Apply your pricing rules
  4. Apply your inventory buffer
  5. Send the listing to the marketplace API
The listing status changes to "pending" while the marketplace processes it, then to "active" once it's live. Check the sync log for details.

Next steps

Now that your first listing is live, explore these features:
  • Bulk listing creation – Add multiple products at once
  • Pricing rules – Set up markups so you don't have to manually price each listing
  • Listing templates – Create reusable templates for consistent listings
  • Category mappings – Map Shopify product types to marketplace categories
  • Order management – View and fulfill marketplace orders

FAQs

How long does it take for a listing to go live?
It depends on the marketplace. eBay and Etsy listings typically go live within minutes. Amazon listings may take 15-30 minutes to appear in search results. Walmart listings can take up to 24 hours for initial review.
What if my listing fails validation?
ShipWave shows exactly what failed and why. Common issues include missing required fields (like GTIN on Walmart), title length violations (Amazon has a 200-character limit), or missing category mappings. Fix the issue and try pushing again.
Can I edit a listing after pushing it?
Yes. Make changes in ShipWave and push again. The marketplace listing will be updated with the new information.
