Order now. Ship later.

Give Shopify shoppers a way to buy when they are ready and choose when shipping can begin. ShipWave holds the order until the selected date, then releases it into your fulfillment workflow.

Benefits

Why Businesses Choose This Feature

Let customers plan ahead

A gift for next month, a move to a new address, or a return to campus: shoppers can buy today and save a later shipping date before checkout.

Keep early orders on hold

Scheduled orders are held in ShipWave and Shopify so your team can see what should wait. The date travels with the order through checkout and import.

Stay in control

Set your store’s scheduling window and time zone. Review upcoming orders, change a shipping date, or release an eligible order early from ShipWave.

From early purchase to scheduled fulfillment

1

Choose a shipping date

Customers add products to their cart, choose a later date on your scheduling page or cart block, and save their choice.

2

Complete normal checkout

The customer confirms their delivery address and pays through your usual Shopify checkout. ShipWave imports the order with its shipping hold.

3

Release when due

On or after the chosen date, ShipWave automatically removes the schedule hold. Your usual inventory, payment and fulfillment checks still apply.

Enable it for your Shopify store

Included with Shipping Core, with no separate scheduling subscription. Turn it on for each store when you are ready.

  • In ShipWave, open Stores → Scheduled fulfillment.
  • Enable scheduling, choose your time zone, and set the earliest and latest dates customers may select.
  • Add the Scheduled shipping block to your cart, or link to your store’s /apps/wholesale-portal/ship-later page.
  • Review held orders and adjust dates from the Shipping schedule card on each order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the selected date guarantee delivery that day?

It is a ship-on-or-after date. The order becomes eligible for shipping on that date, and carrier transit time follows. It is not a delivery appointment or an arrival guarantee.

How far ahead can customers schedule?

You control the scheduling window, up to 365 days with Shopify historical-order access. The default window is 1–180 days. Existing connections without that access are limited to 45 days until the merchant updates the app permissions; ShipWave shows the available dates for each store.

When does the order leave its shipping hold?

The order becomes eligible at 9:00 AM in your store’s configured time zone on the chosen date. ShipWave releases the schedule hold during its next scheduled sync. Other payment, stock or review holds still need to be resolved before fulfillment.

Can customers choose a different date for each item?

The saved date applies to the whole cart. Customers who need separate shipping dates should place separate orders.

Can I change the date after checkout?

Yes. For an eligible unshipped order, open its Shipping schedule card in ShipWave to reschedule or release it early. Customers can contact your store if their plans change.

Does this change payments or warranty terms?

Customers use your normal Shopify checkout and payment settings. Scheduling does not extend payment authorizations or change warranty terms. Stores using manual capture should capture payment through their usual process before the authorization expires.
