Return address label FAQ
- How do I print return address labels at home?
- Type your address, choose the label size that matches your label sheets, and download the PDF. Print one test page on plain paper at 100% (“Actual size”), hold it behind a label sheet against a window to check the alignment, then load the label sheets and print.
- Which Avery labels does this work with?
- The layouts match the published dimensions of the common sheets: 1" × 2-5/8" address labels, 30 per sheet (5160, 5260, 5960, 8160 and similar); 1/2" × 1-3/4" return address labels, 80 per sheet (5167, 8167); and 2" × 4" labels, 10 per sheet (5163, 8163). Other brands with the same layout work too.
- Can I use part of a sheet I already started?
- Yes. Set “Start at label position” to the first unused label, counting left to right across each row. The PDF leaves the used positions blank.
- What should a return address include?
- Your name (or business name), street address with apartment or suite number, and city, state and ZIP code. Put it in the top-left corner of an envelope, or the top-left of a package, above and to the left of the delivery address.
- Why are my labels slightly off?
- Usually because the print dialog is scaling the page. Choose 100% or “Actual size” instead of “Fit to page”, and make sure the paper size is Letter. Some printers also shift the page slightly; printing from a different tray can help.
- Is my address saved?
- No. Everything runs in your browser. If you tick “Remember this address on this device”, it is saved only in this browser’s storage, and unticking it deletes it.
