Amazon fees FAQ
- How are Amazon FBA fees calculated in 2026?
- The FBA fulfillment fee depends on the product’s size tier, its shipping weight and its price: items under $10, $10 to $50, and over $50 have different rates. Since April 17, 2026, Amazon also adds a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge to fulfillment fees.
- What is the Amazon referral fee?
- Most categories pay 15% of the total sales price (item plus shipping and gift wrap, excluding tax) with a $0.30 minimum. Electronics and computers pay 8%, and some categories use tiers, such as clothing (5%, 10% or 17% by price) or jewelry (20% up to $250, 5% above).
- When do Amazon holiday peak fees apply?
- From October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, FBA fulfillment fees rise to peak rates. Fees are based on when the unit ships from the fulfillment center.
- Is FBA or FBM more profitable?
- It depends on the product. FBA adds fulfillment and storage fees but often wins the Buy Box and Prime badge; FBM avoids those fees but you pay for shipping and handling. Toggle between them with the same price to compare, using a real label cost for FBM.
- How much does Amazon storage cost?
- Standard-size inventory costs $0.78 per cubic foot per month from January to September and $2.40 from October to December, before any aged-inventory or utilization surcharges.
- Do I need the Professional plan?
- The Professional plan is $39.99 a month with no per-item fee; the Individual plan has no monthly fee but charges $0.99 per item sold. Professional is cheaper above about 40 sales a month.
