Post-purchase review requests

Trigger review requests at the moment customers are most likely to write one—just after delivery—through Shopify, Amazon, or your own product review tool.

Why time to delivery matters

A review request sent the day a customer orders is too early. Sent 60 days later, the moment is gone. The sweet spot is 2-5 days after delivery, when the customer has used the product but the experience is still fresh. ShipWave triggers review requests off the delivery webhook from EasyPost, so the timing is automatic regardless of carrier.

Shopify product review URL

For Shopify orders, ShipWave can send a branded review email with a direct link to the product's review form (or a third-party review tool like Judge.me, Yotpo, or Loox if you have one installed). Configure the email at Admin → Marketing → Campaigns → New Campaign → Type: Review Request.

Amazon Feedback Request via SP-API

For Amazon orders, the review request goes through Amazon's native solicitations/v1/orders/{orderId}/solicitations/productReviewAndSellerFeedback endpoint. Amazon controls eligibility (only between 5 and 30 days post-delivery, only one per order, only for orders that meet their Buyer-Seller Messaging policy). ShipWave handles all of that—you just enable the campaign and ShipWave fires the request at day 7 post-delivery for every eligible order.

Campaign settings

Each campaign has: trigger (delivery, days post-delivery, order value above threshold), audience (channel, store tag, product category), template (subject, HTML body, sender name), and frequency cap (never more than one review request per customer per 30 days, for example). Campaigns run nightly at 11 PM UTC against the previous day's deliveries.

Measurement

The Campaigns dashboard shows sends, opens, clicks, and (for Shopify with a connected review tool) actual reviews submitted. Amazon doesn't expose per-request review data via API, so for SP-API campaigns you see send count only.

FAQs

Does Amazon penalize you for sending requests?
No, but they restrict what you can say. The SP-API solicitation endpoint uses Amazon's own template—you can't customize wording or include external links. That's why it stays compliant.
Can I send a review request from a custom email address?
For Shopify, yes—set the sender on the campaign. For Amazon, no—the request is sent by Amazon on your behalf and comes from their relay address.
What if the customer already left a review?
ShipWave doesn't know about already-submitted reviews unless you have a connected review tool that surfaces them. We rely on the 30-day frequency cap to avoid pestering people.
Can I include a discount code in the email?
Yes for Shopify. No for Amazon—Amazon's policy prohibits incentivizing reviews.
