How to ship Graded Trading Cards
A graded trading card already has a rigid holder, but the holder can still be scratched, chipped, or cracked during shipping. Protect the slab surface and corners, then immobilize it in a rigid outer package. A sale of graded slabs differs from submitting raw cards for grading, so follow the receiving company instructions for any submission.
What affects the shipping cost?
Number and size of slabs
Standard, oversized, and thick-card holders require different internal spaces. Count the complete bundle and separate each slab so hard edges cannot rub together.
Protective layers
A sleeve, cushioning, dividers, and a small box add weight to an otherwise light item. Quote the complete protected parcel rather than the card alone.
Value and receiving instructions
Keep the transaction record and certification details. Review coverage and recipient requirements, especially when shipping a high-value lot or sending items to a grading company.

Pack, measure, and buy your label
- Photograph the slab and certification label, record the contents, and confirm the recipient address and requirements.
- Place each slab in a suitable protective sleeve or nonabrasive wrap without putting adhesive on the holder.
- Cushion corners and faces. Use dividers between multiple holders to prevent hard edges from contacting each other.
- Secure the protected slab or bundle in a rigid carton so it cannot slide or strike the box wall.
- Seal, weigh, and measure the package. For a grading submission, include the exact paperwork and packing requested by the receiving service.
