Switching from Sellbrite to ShipWave: Complete Guide
Sellbrite prices on order volume and ShipWave prices on channel count — here is how to work out whether the move saves you money, and how to cut over without overselling.
Run the Pricing Comparison First
These two tools bill on completely different axes, so whether this move saves money depends entirely on your numbers.
Sellbrite prices on monthly marketplace order volume. Free at roughly 30 orders/mo, then about $19, $59, and $99 for 100, 500, and 2,000 orders. Channels, SKUs, and users are unlimited on every plan, and Amazon FBA orders are excluded from the count, which materially helps FBA-heavy sellers.
ShipWave prices on channel count. First channel free, then $19/mo per channel or $59/mo for all. Order volume and SKU count do not affect the price.
Work out your own break-even:
- Under ~30 marketplace orders/mo: Sellbrite is free and ShipWave's channel module is not. Sellbrite wins on the channel module alone.
- 500+ orders/mo: you are at $59/mo or more on Sellbrite, and $59/mo covers every channel on ShipWave. Roughly a wash on the module — and ShipWave's shipping core is free on top, which is where the real saving lives.
- 2,000+ orders/mo: Sellbrite is $99/mo and climbing; ShipWave stays at $59/mo.
Then add what you currently pay for shipping software separately. Sellbrite does not buy labels. If you are paying a second vendor for that, ShipWave's free unlimited shipping core is usually the larger number in this comparison.
The Non-Price Reasons People Move
Price is often not the trigger. Three other things usually are.
TikTok Shop. Sellbrite's channels are Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, and Google. There is no TikTok Shop, and in 2026 that is a meaningful omission. ShipWave Channels includes it, alongside Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Etsy, plus six EU marketplaces.
Sync latency. Sellbrite's free tier syncs on roughly a two-hour cadence and paid tiers on about fifteen minutes. For slow-moving inventory that is fine; for anything with real velocity it is an oversell window. ShipWave syncs on real-time webhooks and adds per-channel buffers and floors so you can reserve stock per marketplace rather than publishing one pooled number everywhere.
Needing shipping in the same tool. Sellbrite is a listing and order-sync tool; it does not produce labels. If your workflow is Sellbrite plus a separate shipping app, consolidating removes an integration point and a bill.
The fair counterpoint: Sellbrite has been around a long time, is backed by GoDaddy, and offers unlimited channels and SKUs on every plan including the free one. Its rating is around 3.9/5 on roughly 110 reviews, but the product is stable and its pricing is genuinely simple.
Confirm the Move Works for Your Setup
Three checks before you commit.
1. Shopify must be your source of truth. ShipWave requires it. If your catalog master is elsewhere, this migration is not available regardless of anything else on this page.
2. Check your channel list against ours. The overlap is Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Etsy — four of Sellbrite's five. Google Shopping is the gap. If Google is a real revenue channel for you, note that ShipWave Channels does not cover it, and plan to handle Google feeds separately. Shopify's own Google and YouTube channel is the usual answer, and it is free.
3. Check your FBA exposure. Sellbrite excludes FBA orders from its order count, which means an FBA-heavy seller may be sitting on a much cheaper Sellbrite tier than their true order volume suggests. Recalculate honestly: if FBA exclusions are keeping you on a low tier, the saving from moving is entirely on the shipping side rather than the channel module.
If all three check out, the rest of this guide is a straightforward channel-by-channel cutover. The listings themselves are never at risk.
Step 1 — Document Settings and Reconcile Inventory
Document what you have built in Sellbrite, because none of it exports into ShipWave:
- Per-channel pricing rules and markups.
- Listing templates and any per-channel title or description formats.
- Category and attribute mappings for each marketplace.
- Excluded or paused SKUs, and the reason for each.
- Any inventory rules — reserved quantities, per-channel caps, or thresholds you have configured.
Then reconcile Shopify. ShipWave reads inventory from Shopify, so Shopify has to be right before a channel goes live. Export on-hand from Shopify, compare against what each marketplace is displaying, and investigate anything meaningfully off. If you run multiple locations, verify per-location splits rather than just the total.
Pay particular attention to SKUs Sellbrite was holding back. If you configured reserved quantities there, those reservations exist in Sellbrite's logic, not in Shopify's number. When ShipWave takes over you rebuild that as a per-channel buffer and floor — but only if you wrote it down first.
Step 2 — Set Up ShipWave, Shipping Side First
Create the account and connect Shopify. Catalog, orders, and inventory arrive with no import step.
Configure fulfillment before you touch channels. Marketplace orders will land in ShipWave and you want the label path proven before volume arrives:
- Add every warehouse with its exact ship-from address.
- Review available rates. ShipWave ships on its own pre-negotiated carrier accounts — USPS Commercial Plus, UPS, FedEx, and DHL — so there is nothing to connect, but compare them against what you pay today.
- Turn on the regional carriers that serve your lanes: OnTrac, LaserShip, Veho, LSO, Spee-Dee, and GLS. These regularly beat the nationals on short zones and are not something Sellbrite offers at all, since it does not buy labels.
- Rebuild package presets and confirm 4x6 thermal label output works.
This part is free and permanent — unlimited labels, no monthly fee — so there is no trial clock while you set it up.
Then start the Channels trial. Fourteen days, and the first channel is free forever, so you can migrate your smallest marketplace and evaluate at zero cost.
Step 3 — Cut Over Channels, Lowest Volume First
Never sync one marketplace with two apps at once. Sellbrite and ShipWave both writing quantity to the same Amazon account will conflict, and the symptom is overselling rather than an error message.
Per channel:
- Start with Etsy or eBay, whichever is smaller for you. Amazon goes last — it penalizes cancellations and stockouts most severely and you want the process rehearsed.
- In Sellbrite, disconnect that channel or fully disable its inventory and price sync. Verify it is off rather than assuming.
- In ShipWave, connect the same channel and link existing listings to Shopify SKUs. Mismatches surface here; fix them in Shopify.
- Rebuild that channel's pricing rules from your documentation, then spot-check ten live marketplace prices before enabling sync. A markup rule short by a few percent is invisible until month end.
- Set the per-channel buffer and floor, translating any Sellbrite reserved quantities into ShipWave's equivalent.
- Enable sync and watch for 24 hours. This is where you will notice the difference between fifteen-minute polling and real-time webhooks.
- Move to the next channel only after that one is clean.
Four channels takes about four days at this pace.
Step 4 — Handle Google, Then Close Sellbrite Out
Google Shopping needs a plan, since ShipWave Channels does not cover it. The usual answer is Shopify's own Google and YouTube channel, which is free and pushes your product feed directly from Shopify. Set it up and confirm the feed is populating before you disconnect Google from Sellbrite, so there is no gap in your Shopping ads.
Then let everything run for a full billing cycle before cancelling. Do not cancel on cutover day.
Before you cancel, confirm:
- Every channel is disconnected from Sellbrite — check each one individually.
- No open marketplace orders are still sitting unfulfilled in Sellbrite.
- Your pricing rules have been verified against live marketplace prices, and re-verified a week later on the long tail.
- You have exported any order history you want for your records.
Then turn on the rest of the platform, which is the part Sellbrite never offered: Returns Automation at $29/mo with a branded self-serve portal and USPS Label Broker QR codes; Freight and LTL, free; Hazmat at $19/mo if you ship regulated goods; Wholesale B2B at $39/mo; and the Recovery and Audit Suite, which audits carrier invoices and files claims for 25% of what it recovers and nothing otherwise.
Compare your new total against Sellbrite plus whatever you were paying for shipping software. That second number is usually the one that makes the move worthwhile.
