Orders & Batches
Batch label processing
Create shipping labels for multiple orders at once.
Creating a batch
Go to Admin → Batches and click New Batch. Select the orders you want to include. You can filter by store, date, or status and select individual orders or select all matching orders. Give the batch a name for easy reference.
Setting batch defaults
Before processing, set defaults that apply to all orders in the batch: Package preset: Select a default box size. Carrier preference: Choose a specific carrier/service or let ShipWave pick the cheapest option. Insurance and signature options. Individual orders can still override these defaults if needed.
Processing the batch
Click Process Batch to create all labels at once. ShipWave fetches rates for each order, selects the best option based on your preferences, and purchases all labels. Progress is shown in real time. Any orders that fail (e.g., invalid address) are flagged for manual review while the rest complete successfully.
Downloading and printing
After processing, download all labels as a single PDF or as individual files. Print the entire batch at once on a thermal printer or standard printer. Each label is linked to its order, so you can match labels to packages using the order number printed on each label.
FAQs
Is there a limit to how many orders I can batch?
There is no hard limit. Batches of 500+ orders are common. Very large batches may take a few minutes to process since each label requires a carrier API call.
What if some orders in the batch fail?
Failed orders are flagged with the error reason (usually an address issue). The rest of the batch completes normally. You can fix the failed orders and process them individually or in a new batch.
Can I use different carriers for different orders in a batch?
Yes. If you set the carrier preference to "Cheapest," ShipWave picks the best carrier per order based on destination, weight, and dimensions. You can also set specific carriers per order before processing.
